Changing the narrative
The Urban Indigo Foundation was birthed out of a necessity to build friendships and bridge the gap between Neurodivergent and Neurotypical children from all walks of life. Our founder Lola Green, saw a need and the importance of placing her child in spaces where her child could receive real world exposure to other children outside of his day to day interaction with children that learned like him. She saw the growth of her son when he was around all children that learned at various levels. Knowing that inclusion classrooms are only offered at few institutions in Atlanta (that are not affordable to the average parent), she banded together with some friends and providers to bring inclusion spaces to children and their families. Children with special needs should not be hidden from other children, that’s not how the world should be.
