The Urban Indigo Foundation was birthed out of a necessity to build friendships and bridge the gap between Neurodivergent and Nuerotyplical children from all walks of life. Our founder Lola Green, saw a need and the importance of placing her child in spaces where her child could receive real world exposure to other children outside of his day to day interaction with children that learned like him. She saw the growth of her son when he was around all children that learned at various levels.
Knowing that inclusion classrooms are only offered at few institutions in Atlanta (that are not affordable to the average parent), she banded together with some friends and providers to bring inclusion spaces to children and their families. Children with special needs should not be hidden from other children, that's not how the world works.
Lola is the founder and CEO of Urban Indigo Inc. It was out of love for community that inspired Lola to merge her yoga business with her nonprofit.
The Urban Indigo Foundation as a whole, is a nonprofit organization that supports families with children experiencing special needs. A place to build bonds and foster friendships through inclusive programming, awareness, and fundraising.
